Rizwan had already appeared before the NCCIA, where he was questioned and handed a multi-page questionnaire. According to current reports, the questions sought details about his travel, financial dealings, personal information and professional activities. Rizwan has now approached the Lahore High Court, questioning why he was summoned and what specific allegations are being investigated against him.
The NCCIA inquiry has reportedly been linked to online betting and gambling-related activity. At the same time, other reports have connected the wider episode to a separate disciplinary investigation by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), including questions over player conduct and possible dressing-room leaks. The distinction between the two investigations, however, remains unclear. There has been no publicly established link confirming that the NCCIA probe and the PCB's internal inquiry are part of the same investigation.
