Virat Kohli’s Last World Cup Mission: ‘I’m Ready to Give It Everything’

Speaking to JioStar and Star Sports ahead of India’s upcoming ODI series against the West Indies, Kohli highlighted the physical and mental demands of a 50-over World Cup. He explained that maintaining the intensity throughout a 10-match tournament, especially in foreign conditions, presents a significant challenge.
“The intensity of a 50-over World Cup is greater than anything,” Kohli said, pointing out that players must sustain the intensity of multiple T20 matches over a single day. He added that his motivation is to leave everything on the field, with the ultimate goal of winning the World Cup.
“For me, it’s the last World Cup I’m going to play for India. And that is my motivation. Like, you know, to leave everything out there. And of course, the goal is absolutely to win the World Cup. And whatever it takes, I’m absolutely ready,” he stated.
Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma also expressed his desire to win the ODI World Cup, describing the tournament as unfinished business. Both veterans are preparing for the 2027 edition, which will be held in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia.
