Kamlesh Jain has been the head physiotherapist of Indian men’s cricket team since June 2022. Reports are saying that, Jain has submitted his resignation to the Board of Control for Cricket in India, and he is currently serving 3-month notice period.
This resignation came at a time when Indian men’s team’s players have repeatedly faced injuries and missed crucial matches. Several players including Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Harshit Rana, and other players have recently dealt with injury and fitness issues.
After a long time Bumrah is declared fit to back on the field. Ahead of the three match T20 series against Afghanistan, Reddy cleared the fitness test as well. Recently Harshit Rana was also ruled out of the team due to a fresh rectus femoris strain and Yash Thakur replaced him.
A few reports have linked the resignation of Jain with the BCCI’s concerns over team’s continuous injury issues after the BCCI meeting on 3rd September. There’s also some buzz that Jain did not resign but he was terminated. However, BCCI has not declared any official statement explaining the decision till now. Jain’s departure from the team India is expected after the series against New Zealand which will end in early December.
