Xtratime Webdesk: Ajit Agarkar’s stint as the chairman of the BCCI’s senior men’s selection committee is entering its final weeks, with his current tenure set to end on October 4, 2026. Agarkar took charge as chief selector on July 4, 2023, and has now spent more than three years overseeing some of the biggest selection calls in Indian cricket. With his contract coming to a close, BCCI has yet to give any clear word on whether he will continue in the role.
The timing has added further intrigue to Wednesday’s selection meeting in New Delhi. The panel is set to finalise India’s squads for the upcoming white-ball series against the West Indies, including the three-match ODI series beginning September 27.
