Erwin will arrive in Kolkata on Monday. Mohun Bagan Super Giant’s new Scottish striker is expected to reach the city on Monday night and will begin training with the team from Tuesday.
The 32-year-old Erwin has signed a one-year contract with the Mariners. A traditional box striker, he stands 6 feet 2 inches tall and is known for his strength and skill in front of goal.
Erwin played for Jordanian club Al Faisaly last season and has also represented Scotland at youth level. He has experience of playing in both the Scottish leagues and the English Premier League. The striker has previously featured for Leeds United and Bury FC and has also played for clubs in Asia.

After completing his move to Mohun Bagan, Erwin said that several ISL clubs had shown interest in signing him, but he chose the Kolkata giants because of the club’s stature and legacy.
“I have come to India for the first time. I had offers from several ISL clubs, but I chose Mohun Bagan because I believe it is the best club in India. I have heard from my Scottish friends who have played here before that Mohun Bagan’s vision and professionalism can compete with any club in the world,” Erwin said.
He added, “In terms of success and tradition, there is no club that comes close to Mohun Bagan. The passion and love of the supporters are also one of the reasons why I wanted to wear this club’s jersey. I have been training regularly, and my only goal is to win trophies.”
With his physical presence, experience and ability to operate inside the box, Mohun Bagan will hope Erwin can make an immediate impact and strengthen their attacking options for the upcoming season.
