History Created at State Athletics Meet as 41-Year-Old Steeplechase Record Falls

In the women's Under-23 category, Mohun Bagan's Montarina Gharami set a new meet record in the 2000m race walk. East Bengal's Abhra Mondal created a new record in the Under-18 boys' 5000m race walk, while Mohun Bagan's Bidisha Kundu established a new meet record in the women's Under-23 100m hurdles.
In the Under-16 girls' 600m race, Gunjan Mondal of Nadia produced a record-breaking performance. In the men's Under-23 3000m steeplechase, Prashanta Oraon of Jalpaiguri also set a new meet record, while Biswajit Sau of Howrah achieved the same feat in the Under-20 men's 3000m steeplechase.
Several records were also rewritten in the field events. In the Under-20 men's long jump, Rajib Roy of Hooghly broke a decade-old meet record. Meanwhile, Mohun Bagan's Nupur Pandey set a new meet record in the women's Under-23 triple jump, adding to an eventful day at the championships.
