He was the one who encouraged him. Due to circumstance, he also ended up being Messi's agent. Today, Messi and his family has announced that his father, Jorge has suffered a health condition.

The statement put forward also mentioned that 'recovering and evolving favorably within the condition he is experiencing'. They also condemned the rumours being spread out about the family. They expressed great sadness at how some treated this private family matter. The family also put out that only his closest family has real and accurate information about Jorge's condition.
