India sealed the three-match T20I series with a commanding 90-run victory over Zimbabwe in the second T20I, taking an unassailable 2-0 lead. It also marked Shreyas Iyer's first series win as captain. Riding on impressive half-centuries from Ishan Kishan and Tilak Varma, along with a dominant bowling performance, India registered a comfortable win on Saturday.
Batting first, India posted a formidable 219/5. In reply, Zimbabwe's innings fell apart early, losing five wickets within the first nine overs. They were eventually bowled out for 129, handing India a comprehensive victory.
The match also marked the international debut of Yash Thakur, who impressed with two wickets, while part-time spinner Abhishek Sharma starred with three wickets. However, India suffered an injury concern when Prince Yadav walked off the field after sustaining a hamstring injury while bowling his second over, raising concerns for the team management ahead of the final match.
