BCB security chief promises "enhanced security" ahead of the series against India in September
Despite the previous discussions, there are no Twenty20 Internationals planned for India's August visit of Sri Lanka, which clearly implies that worries about India touring Bangladesh are starting to disappear.

XtraTime Newsdesk: The head of the Bangladesh Cricket Board's security committee, Sayeed Ibrahim Ahmed, stated on Tuesday that the board was prepared to step up security efforts for the September India series.
Despite the initial uncertainty, the BCB told media outlets that they were optimistic about hosting India. As a consequence, they chose to solicit Expressions of Interest (EOI) for their home internationals in 2026 and 2027, specifically mentioning India's 2026 trip.
Despite the previous discussions, there are no Twenty20 Internationals planned for India's August visit of Sri Lanka, which clearly implies that worries about India touring Bangladesh are starting to disappear.
Due to tense ties between Bangladesh and India, the Yunus-led government at the time was obliged to cancel Bangladesh's participation in the most recent T20 World Cup in India, citing security concerns.
"Security is always a concern for every touring side, especially for the major cricketing nations. We have not yet formally started communication with them (BCCI). We are hopeful there will be no complaints if the tour takes place as planned," Ibrahim told reporters in Dhaka on Tuesday.
"We always try to organise our events in a controlled environment and ensure the highest standards of security. We will continue to do that.
"It (security measures) will depend on the situation (during the India series) and if required we will enhance the security," he said.
Mirpur, Chattogram, and Sylhet have meanwhile emerged as the three suggested locations for the 2027 Asia Cup, according to Ibrahim, who stated that preparations had started.
The board director claims that the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has requested comprehensive details about the suggested locations for the 50-over Asia Cup, which is slated to take place from June 18 to July 4, 2027.
There has also been speculation over the inclusion of Bogura's Shaheed Chandu Stadium, but Ibrahim said its chances depend on the venue being fully prepared in time.
Bangladesh last hosted the Asia Cup in 2016, when the tournament was played in the T20 format, and the hosts finished as runners-up. If confirmed, the 2027 edition will be the first major international tournament organized under the Tamim Iqbal-led BCB.
