Young Shuttlers Shine as National Badminton Sub-Junior Tournament 2026 Concludes in Harinavi
Several prominent guests attended the finals of the national-level sub-junior tournament, including Bengal Olympic Association secretary Jahar Das and IFA chairman Subrata Dutta

Xtratime Webdesk: The five-day National Badminton Sub-Junior (Under-13) Tournament 2026 concluded successfully after a series of exciting matches. Although there was no representative from Bengal in the finals at Star Badminton Academy in Harinavi, the quality of badminton displayed by the young talents from different states showed that the future of Indian badminton is in capable hands.
In the Girls’ Singles final, Telangana’s Liyosha Korukonda faced fellow state representative Shanvi Reddy Nimma. Liyosha defeated Shanvi in straight sets, winning 15-10, 15-12.
In the Boys’ Singles final, Uttarakhand’s Sarthak Joshi defeated Andhra Pradesh’s Rehaan Dudekula 15-12, 15-10.
Interestingly, the players who faced each other in the singles finals later teamed up in the doubles events. In the Boys’ Doubles final, Rehaan and Sarthak defeated Rajasthan’s Lokesh Gurjar and Rakshit Singh 16-14, 15-12.
In the Girls’ Doubles final, Liyosha and Shanvi Reddy joined forces to defeat Maharashtra’s Hazel Joshi and Divisha Singh in straight games, winning 16-14, 15-6.
Several prominent guests attended the finals of the national-level sub-junior tournament, including Bengal Olympic Association secretary Jahar Das and IFA chairman Subrata Dutta. Olympian Chetan Anand had also made a notable appearance on the opening day of the tournament.
