Dravid and Sehwag’s Sons Set to Share the India U-19 Dressing Room

XtraTime Web Desk: A new chapter in Indian cricket is about to begin. The sons of two legendary Indian cricketers, Rahul Dravid and Virender Sehwag, have been selected together for the India Under-19 squad for the upcoming series against Australia U-19. Anvay Dravid and Aryaveer Sehwag will represent India in the series, which begins on September 19.

There was a time when Rahul Dravid and Virender Sehwag stood shoulder to shoulder in the Indian dressing room. Dravid was the embodiment of technique, patience and solid defence, while Sehwag represented aggression, fearless strokeplay and attacking cricket. Nearly two decades after the iconic duo shared the dressing room, the next generation of the two stars is now ready to begin its own journey together.

Anvay Dravid has already featured for India U-19. He was part of the Indian squad during the tour of Sri Lanka in July and impressed with his batting performances. He will now be joined by Aryaveer Sehwag as the two young cricketers prepare to take on Australia U-19.

Naturally, comparisons with their illustrious fathers will be unavoidable. Will Anvay follow in Rahul Dravid’s footsteps and become another dependable wall for Indian cricket? Or will Aryaveer carve out his own legacy with the fearless and attacking approach associated with his father, Virender Sehwag?

However, the biggest challenge for both youngsters will be to step out of their fathers’ shadows and establish identities of their own.

The expectations will be immense, but Anvay and Aryaveer will have an opportunity to write the next chapter of their own cricketing stories—this time, not as the sons of legends, but as future stars of Indian cricket.
