23 Year Old Bengali, Ashmita D Creates History By Winning Judo Gold in Commonwealth Games
23-year-old Ashmita was under a lot of pressure in the beginning, but she became aggressive and won in the end.

Xtratime Web Desk: It was a historical day in Indian judo as Ashmita De and Harsh Singh won gold in their respective categories. Ashmita, a Bengali girl from Belonia, Tripura, became the first Indian to win gold in the women's 48 kg category. Ashmita defeated Heidi Kwach of Canada in the final. Harsh won her second gold in judo shortly after.
23-year-old Ashmita was under a lot of pressure in the beginning, but she became aggressive and won in the end. Harsh Singh won gold by defeating the Australian judoka. With this, India won a total of 19 medals. Of which five were gold.
Indian boxers are moving forward as well at an unstoppable pace. A complete 5-0 success. Five Indian boxers won the semifinals and went on to fight for gold in the final. They are Arundhati Chowdhury, Jaismin Lamboria, Preeti Pawar, Ankush Panghal and Jadumani Singh.
