The Knight Riders Group have found a second home after Eden Gardens: Los Angeles
The plan for a stadium was formulated when MLC's parent company, American Cricket Enterprise(ACE) announced plans to invest $110 million into new and existing cricket grounds.

XtraTime Newsdesk: Eden Gardens has been the home ground for the Kolkata Knight Riders for more than 18 years. It has been the place for some of the franchise's most iconic moments. Now, the Knight Riders Group has built a second home for its teams in Pomona, California. Officially called the Knight Riders Cricket Ground, it will serve as the home ground for the group's MLC(Major League Cricket) franchise Los Angeles Knight Riders.
The plan for a stadium was formulated when MLC's parent company, American Cricket Enterprise(ACE) announced plans to invest $110 million into new and existing cricket grounds. The Knight Riders Group announced after that they would build a 10k seater stadium worth 30 million.
In 2023, the International Olympic Committee(IOC) approved cricket as one of the sports being played in the 2028 Olympics. For that purpose, the Los Angeles Committee earmarked the unused cricket facility in Fairplex as the venue for the sport. In 2025, Fairplex instead asked the Knight Riders Group to fund a stadium there so that the latter can use it as their home ground.
On March 19, 2026, the Knight Riders Group announced that they had leased land at the Fairplex to construct a cricket stadium known as the Knight Riders Cricket Ground, which will serve as the Los Angeles Knight Riders' home stadium, and is expected to host cricket during the 2028 Summer Olympics
Construction of the $21 million stadium began with a groundbreaking ceremony on April 26, 2026, attended by Pomona mayor Tim Sandoval, Fairplex president and CEO Walter Marquez, Knight Riders Sports CEO Venky Mysore, LAOCOG vice president of sports Niccolò Campriani, and ICC CEO Sanjog Gupta among other figures.
The stadium is going to open shortly with an MLC match involving the LAKR. Upon its completion, it will become the second cricket stadium developed for MLC behind Grand Prairie Stadium. The stadium will initially seat up to 5,000 spectators, but will be expanded to 12,000 seats by 2027, and then 15,000 by 2028 for the Olympics.
