The eight quarter-finalists for the Durand Cup 2026 have been confirmed. Both East Bengal and Mohun Bagan Super Giant have made it through to the last eight after the group-stage battles. However, the two Kolkata giants will not face each other in the quarter-finals.
The quarter-final action begins on August 16. In the first match, SC Delhi will take on FC Raeyangdai at the Birsa Munda Stadium in Ranchi at 4 PM.
Later at 7 PM, East Bengal will face Indian Army FT at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan in Kolkata. The Red and Gold brigade will therefore have a challenging test in the quarter-finals.
Two more quarter-finals are scheduled for August 17. At 4 PM, Mohun Bagan Super Giant will face Jamshedpur FC at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan. Later at 7 PM, Shillong Lajong will take on NorthEast United FC in Shillong.
East Bengal's quarter-final opponent is therefore Indian Army, while Mohun Bagan will face Jamshedpur FC.
If both Kolkata giants win their respective quarter-finals, they will find themselves on opposite sides of the semi-final draw. East Bengal would face either SC Delhi or FC Raeyangdai in the semi-final, while Mohun Bagan would meet either Shillong Lajong or NorthEast United.
That means if both teams manage to win their semi-finals as well, the stage could be set for a much-awaited East Bengal-Mohun Bagan derby in the Durand Cup final at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan on August 23.
The possibility of another Kolkata derby in a major final will certainly add extra excitement to the closing stages of the Durand Cup 2026..
